5 Fizzy Cocktails for a Sparkling Evening

5 Fizzy Cocktails for a Sparkling Evening

I truly feel like a sparkling cocktail automatically makes the event you’re serving it at about 10 times fancier. This is totally a fact backed up by a plethora of relevant scientific findings, I swear. 😉

For those who aren’t so leniant with their alcohol intake, we’ve also comprised some mocktails for a social gathering which are bursting with flavours and rich tones.

But really, who doesn’t love an impressively elegant get-together with sparkling drinks, be it a large or small gathering?

To up the Fancy Game at your next event, be sure to try these five cocktails.

The Devereaux

This drink surpasses expectations, taking the simple combination of sparkling wine and elderflower liqueur to a new level, thanks to the bourbon and lemon additions.

Plus, just saying the name of this drink makes you seem elegant.

  • ½ oz elderflower liqueur
  • ½ oz fresh lemon juice
  • ½ oz simple syrup
  • 3 oz sparkling wine
  • Large mint leaf

  • Add all ingredients (minus the mint) to a cocktail shaker filled with ice and shake thoroughly, until shaker is cold to the touch
  • Strain into a highball glass with ice

Rosemary & Apple Gin Fizz

I think the most thought-provoking question I can ask you today is: “What doesn’t go with gin?” Seriously.

It’s so versatile; it pretty much goes with anything. I may be biased, as it’s certainly my favourite liquor to mix with cocktails, but I feel like anyone can enjoy this Rosemary & Apple Gin Fizz.

  • 1½ oz of your favourite gin (my favourites are Bombay Sapphire and Hendrick’s)
  • ½ oz sour apple schnapps
  • 2 oz simple syrup
  • ½ oz lemon juice
  • Soda water
  • Lemon
  • Sprig of rosemary

  • Mix well gin, schnapps, simple syrup, and lemon juice in a cocktail shaker filled with ice
  • Strain into a highball glass filled with ice
  • Top off with soda water
  • Garnish with several pinwheels of lemon mixed into the glass and a long sprig of rosemary

One more sweet drink, the Americano is a yummy combination of the sweetness of the Vermouth and the bitter undertones of the soda water.

  • 1oz Campari
  • 1 oz sweet Vermouth
  • Soda water
  • Lemon
  • Orange

  • Fill a chilled rocks glass with ice
  • Pour in Campari and sweet Vermouth, and stir
  • Top off with soda water
  • Garnish with a wedge of lemon and orange
